Description
Organic Farm from Saline Land Reclamation.
In 2020, I began a personal experiment to restore my family’s 10-acre saline-affected land — with zero background in agriculture.
What followed was four years of learning by doing, connecting with experts, and making tough calls where every decision mattered. Agriculture doesn’t offer quick corrections — one wrong move can cost an entire season.
Inspired by G. Nammalvar’s natural farming principles, I combined traditional organic methods with modern systems thinking to turn the land into a fertile, self-sustaining ecosystem.

🧩 Transformation Journey
Learning & Discovery:
Started from scratch — learned directly from local farmers, organic practitioners and soil experts. Tested and adapted methods until I found what truly worked for this land.
Water & Infrastructure:
Built protective boundaries and a peripheral pond to control saline intrusion and harvest rainwater. Added solar-powered borewells and drip irrigation for sustainable water use.
Soil & Ecosystem Restoration:
Rebuilt fertility through green manuring (Sesbania, Dhaincha, Sunn Hemp) and natural bio-inputs like Panchagavya and Jeevamrutham, creating long-term soil health.
Process Innovation:
Integrated forward into organic rice processing. Partnered with a trusted rice mill to process and store produce separately, ensuring purity and traceability.

🌿 Outcomes & Learnings
✅ Reclaimed 10 acres of saline land into a productive organic ecosystem
✅ Built a full value chain — from soil to packaged parboiled organic rice
✅ Demonstrated how persistence, systems design, and learning can drive transformation
✅ Created a replicable model for sustainable asset development
